Stud welding detail. When two dis-similar substrates are used it’s always better to have a mechanical way to fasten the two materials together. A technique we use in backlit push through type signage.

We built this illuminated suspended sign from 1/2" acrylic. Round over on the corners to keep the light even throughout the sign. Custom bracket in steel to handle the 150lb weight. Built for @sherwood.victoria
